Larry Keith Sulfridge, 68, of Vincent, Ohio, passed away September 2, 2026, after a very brief battle with cancer.
Larry was born on September 11, 1957, in Pineville, Kentucky, the youngest child of Albert and Kathleen (Keith) Sulfridge. He lived a rather nomadic childhood, as his family moved very frequently due to his father's government job as a surveyor with USCGS. He attended school in many different states, eventually graduating from East Lyme High School in East Lyme, Connecticut. He went on to graduate from Berea College in Berea Kentucky with a B.S. degree in Business Management. He also graduated from the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia.
While in college, Larry met his future wife, Leslie. They were married on August 20, 1977, at the Berea United Methodist Church in Berea, Kentucky. They celebrated 49 years of marriage in August of this year. Together they raised three sons, all of whom he was very proud.
After beginning his career with the Jerrico Corporation (Long John Silver's) and 84 Lumber, Larry settled into automobile sales. Over the years he worked at several area dealerships, including McClinton, Simmons, Astorg, and Warner. He enjoyed the challenge of sales, and getting to know his customers, many of whom became friends.
When his sons were young, Larry enjoyed coaching them in baseball, soccer, and basketball. When they were older, he and Leslie traveled often to watch them participate in wrestling, cross country, and track, as well as school and scouting activities. He was also an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball. His greatest joy in later years, however, was spending time with his grandchildren and attending as many of their school activities and sporting events as possible.
Throughout his adult life, Larry had a passion for antique cars and belonged to several local car clubs. He had served as president of both the Mid-Ohio Valley Widetrackers and The Rollin' Oldies clubs. He was instrumental in putting on many car shows in the area over the years to raise money for organizations, charities and individuals in need.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Cathie Jean Peak, and brother, Richard Sulfridge. He is survived by his wife, Leslie (Graham) Sulfridge, sons, Luke (Kathleen), Lyle (Brea), and Lane (Courtney), and five grandchildren: Sylvania, Blair, Mackenzie, Eliza, and Grayson Sulfridge, as well as sister-in-law, Patricia Sulfridge, and brother-in-law, Dale Peak (Karen), aunts, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Arrangements have been handled by Leavitt's Funeral Home in Belpre, Ohio.
