Sandra “Sandy” L. Lamb

Sandra "Sandy" L. Lamb, 83, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy was born on December 10, 1942, in Bedford, Ohio, a daughter of the late Calvin C. and Hazel I. (Kincaid) Ferrell. Her family later moved to West Virginia, where Sandy graduated from Spencer High School. Throughout her life she lived in many places, but Philippi, West Virginia and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina were always considered home.

Sandy worked as an administrative assistant to the president at the former Alderson-Broaddus College for 30 years before retiring.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Sandy cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards and traveling. She especially treasured participating in church mission trips around the world. During the years she lived in Myrtle Beach, Sandy also enjoyed collecting seashells, going to yard sales, and hosting her friends and family at her beach retreat.

Sandy is survived by her three children, Mark (Lisa) Lamb of Philippi, WV; Tonya (Bill) DeSa of Pawcatuck, CT; and Susan Springer (Grant) of East Palestine, OH; five grandchildren, Codi Lamb (Andy Rose) , Jordan (Shannon) Lamb, Katie DeSa, Shantel Springer, and Tyson Springer; four step-grandchildren, Chase (Allison) Byrne, Paige Byrne, Alexis DeSa and Casey DeSa; a great-grandson, Jerry "J" Nash IV; a step-great grandson, Wren Byrne; three sisters, Patricia "Pat" Monroe, Carol Wise, and Cindy Knopp; a sister-in-law, Connie Ferrell; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold "Fred" Lamb, whom she married on May 13, 1961, and who passed away in 1996; her brother, Calvin C. Ferrell Jr.; and her brother-in-law, Gordon Monroe.

A Celebration of Life service for Sandy will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
