Rose Mary Horner

Rose Mary Horner, age 83, of Bonds Creek Road, Pennsboro, WV, departed this life on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Parkersburg, WV. She was born on October 5, 1942, in Glendale, WV, the daughter of the late Gale Arch and Eva May Seese Nichols.

Rose was a 1960 graduate of the former Pennsboro High School and a member of the former Wilson Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked in the garment industry at Economy Industries in Harrisville, WV.

She devoted her time to serving others as a volunteer with the Foster Grandparent Program for Ritchie County Schools. Rose loved the Lord and cherished spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her faith, kindness, and the love she shared with those around her.

Rose is survived by one daughter, Cindy Winland (Russ), Pennsboro, WV; three brothers, Paul Nichols (Sandra), St. Marys, WV, Donald Nichols, Pennsboro, WV and Gale Nichols, Ellenboro, WV; two special nieces, Mindy Keith (Bobby) and Teresa Nicholson (Terry); and her grand dog Coco, whom she referred to as "Big Dog.”

In addition to her parents Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Horner and her son, Bill Winland.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the nursing staff of 1-East at Camden Clark Medical Center and to palliative care nurse, Mary for the compassionate care and kindness shown to Rose and her family. A special thank you and God bless our angel, Dr. Kelli Cawley, for her loving care, compassion, and support during this difficult time.
