Patricia Clark Hoblitzell passed away peacefully on the 28th of June, 2026, after a long illness.
Born on July 3, 1944, in Hawthorne, Nevada, to parents John Dempsey Hoblitzell and Charlotte Reed Hoblitzell, Patricia (Pat) was the eldest of 3 children. A loving big sister to Julie and John, Patricia enjoyed an idyllic childhood growing up in ‘Wild, Wonderful’ West Virginia.
After graduating from Washington Irving high school in Clarksburg, Patricia attended West Virginia University.
For most of her adult life, Patricia resided in the Seattle area, raising 4 children while also studying to become a paralegal, and graduating with honors.
After working briefly for a law firm in Tacoma, Patricia began working for the state of Washington in downtown Seattle as a child support enforcement officer, retiring in 2008.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Lloyd R. McCauley, her children Lesli R. Cook, Juliette W. Cook, Tyler H. Cook (Kimberly), her siblings Julie Matheny (Mike) and John Hoblitzell (Sara), her 5 beautiful granddaughters, Althea, Charlotte, Claire, Olivia, and Sydney, and her many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Mom loved Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Neil Diamond, John Denver, and she especially enjoyed listening to the radio while Dave Niehaus called the Mariners’ games every summer, while warm sunlight and a mild warm breeze filtered through the thick forest of evergreen and cedar trees behind our home.
Patricia was preceded in death by both of her parents and by her son, John (Jay) F. Cook Jr., who passed in 1985.
