Jessica “Jessi” Rae Hixon

Hixson

Jessica "Jessi" Rae Hixon, 39, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away September 3, 2026, at her residence.

She was born August 21, 1987, in Harrison, Arkansas, and was a daughter to Mackey Hixon and Vicki Jack Hixon.

Jessi was a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg High School, where she played basketball and ran track. She later attended Marshall University, where she completed her undergraduate studies. Jessi also attended Parkersburg Christian Church. She loved the simple things that made life good ... watching movies, getting lost in a good book, traveling and seeing new places, and spending time with her friends. But more than anything, Jessi loved her people. She treasured the friendships she made throughout her life and had a way of leaving a little piece of herself with everyone lucky enough to know her. To know Jessi was to have memories of her that will make you smile, even when you wish more than anything that she was still here to make them with you. She was a beloved daughter, a true friend, and someone who meant so much to so many. She will be so missed, but the lives of those who knew and loved her will forever be better because Jessi was a part of them.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her parents, Vicki Hixon and Mackey Hixon; aunts & uncles, John Jack, Ed (Joni) Allman, Larry (Barbara) Jack, Mark (Earlene) Workman, Tammy (Harry) Ice, Earl (Pam) Allman; several cousins; and her faithful and cherished companion, Snickers.

Jessi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Michael and Florence Wallace, William and Louise Hixon; cousin, Larry Jack Jr.; aunt and uncle, William and Sandra Jack and aunt, Carolyn Jack.

Funeral services will be 2 PM on Tuesday September 15, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 12 PM to 2PM at the funeral home.
