Duane Fluty, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 17, 2026.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mary Fluty. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jacquie Fluty; his brother, Bruce Fluty and his wife, Pat; his son, Jeff Fluty and his wife, Kelly; and his stepchildren, Tom Kirkbride, Rachel Poling and her husband, Ben, Aaron Suek and his wife, Chesilin, and Cody Suek and his wife, Tarin Santamaria. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Duane was a proud grandfather to Mason, Carter, and Stella Fluty, and a loving step-grandfather to Kaeler and Logan Poling, Azilin, Barrett, Eva, and Hudson Suek, and Allie Kirkbride.
Duane believed that a good life was built on things that never go out of style: honesty, hard work, and character. He believed in showing up, doing things the right way, and leaving something good behind.
He was there for the long days, the hard conversations, the ordinary moments, and the laughter that becomes a lifetime of memories. He understood that family did not have to be perfect to be strong, and he taught those around him the importance of standing beside one another when life was difficult.
Duane loved the Cleveland Browns, enjoyed playing golf with his buddies, and loved the simple pleasure of sitting on the front porch. He did not need many words to leave his mark. He did it through the lessons he lived, the work of his hands, and the people he helped shape.
Perhaps his greatest lesson was simple: leave only footprints. Live honestly. Work hard. Have character, even when no one is watching. Love your family, especially when life is hard, and leave the world a little better for having been here.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will carry his lessons and his memory with them.
The road was not always easy, but he walked it with the people he loved.
And now, he has gone a little farther down the road than the rest of us.
We'll keep walking.
And we'll try to leave only footprints.
Per Duane's wishes, there will not be a funeral service. At a later date, there will be a celebration of life.
