Beatrice M. “Bea” Oliver, 84, of Parkersburg, passed away September 21, 2026, at the Willows Care Facility.
She was born March 27, 1942, in Elizabeth, WV, the daughter of the late Jesse S. and Girtha Cline Barton.
Bea loved being outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. She enjoyed playing Dominoes and was a great cook. Everyone's favorite recipes were Apple Butter, (which she made every year), Potato Soup and Banana Split Cake.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Clifford E. “Gene” Oliver of Parkersburg; children, Doug Carpenter (Stephanie) of Parkersburg, Bryan Carpenter, of Parkersburg, Mike Carpenter (Sandy) of Belpre; daughter in law, Connie Carpenter of Parkersburg; step daughter, Melanie McConnell (Jason) of Little Hocking; sister, Rosa Hardbarger of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Justin, Kyle, Rebecca, Nathaniel, Michael, Samye, Morgan and a step grandson, Donald; great grandchildren, Dominic, Markey, Alayna, Maddie, Mika, Myla, Racin, Lola, Lila, Gavin, Chloe, Cohen, Cameron, AJ, Foster, Leo and Aleeyah; great-great grandchild, Matteo; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Alan Carpenter and her siblings, Gladys Hayes, Dora Cowan, Marjorie Ecker, Opal Hardbarger, Marie Hardbarger, Denzil Barton, Pearl Barton, Leon Barton, Robert Barton and Geneva Barton.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2026, in the Chapel at Evergreen North Cemetery, 4800 Emerson Ave., Parkersburg with Minister Matthew Boyd officiating.
Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
