Anna Faye (Cain) Lockhart

Anna Faye (Cain) Lockhart, 88, of Sandyville, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord following a brief illness on September 3rd , 2026. 

She was born on April 25, 1938, to the late Clarence and Anna Palmer Cain.

Anna graduated from Ripley High School with the Class of 1955. A devout Christian, she was a faithful member of Union Chapel Church in Sandyville, WV, where she served in countless roles throughout the years.

Anna and her husband, John, were longtime supporters of Wirt County 4-H, the Wirt County FFA, and the Wirt County Fair. She enjoyed traveling and camping and held a special fondness for Ohio's Amish Country. Anna especially loved hosting family gatherings and treasured every opportunity to bring those she loved together. As the devoted matriarch of her large and loving family, Anna made it her life's work to create a home filled with warmth, faith, laughter, and belonging. She dedicated herself to caring for those that she loved, and her steadfast kindness, guidance, and unconditional love formed the foundation that united and shaped generations of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 59 years, John Clifton Lockhart; her brother, Leonal Cain and his wife, Geneva; her brother, Roger Cain, whose wife, Pauline, survives; and her sister, Eloise Andrick and her husband, Fred.

Anna is survived by her twin sister, Janet Sayre with whom she shared an inseparable bond and a lifetime of treasured memories, and her husband, Carl; her brother, Larry Cain and his wife, Patricia; and her four children, Wesley Lockhart and his wife, Vanessa; Nancy Boyce and her husband, Randy; Brenda Bennett and her husband, Kevin; and Bryan Lockhart and his wife, Doralee.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah Murray and her husband, Shaun; Justin Boyce and his wife, Joyce; Jillian Boyce; Cassandra Knotts and Gervice Tate; Kaitlin Burton and her husband, Billy; Hannah Smith and her husband, Mark; Taylor Lockhart and his wife, Chelsea; John Wesley Lockhart; Karly Reynolds and her husband, Curtis; Katherine Lambert and her husband, Justin; Zacharey Lockhart and his wife, Caleigh; Dustin Boram and his wife, Laken; and Kevin Boice, whom she loved as her own grandson.

Her great-grandchildren include Luke and Ruby Murray; Chloe Conrad and her husband, Will; Harley, Grant, and Trapper Boyce; Heath and Walyn Knotts; Gunner and Tucker Tate; Charlie and Elinor Burton; Atlas, Bridger, and Millie Lockhart; Henry, Ivy Kait, and Emmitt Reynolds; Crayton Faye and Wade Grant Lambert; Ellie and Freya Lockhart; Bayleigh Smith; and Ryder Boram.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Casto Funeral Home in Evans, WV. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Union Chapel Church, Sandyville, WV, with Pastor Jamie Burton officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.
