Robert Bruce Conley, 89, of Huntington, WV passed away on August 14, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Parkersburg, WV on October 21, 1936 to the late Heisel and Beulah Conley.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he worked on aircraft and demonstrated dedication, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Following his military service, he began a long and faithful career at Dupont, where he work for many years until his retirement.
He was a devoted man of faith, Robert was a faithful member of Calvary Mission Baptist Church. He loved serving the Lord and his church family, where he taught and sang. Robert shared is faith and gifts with all who knew him.
He was a devoted husband, father and family man. Robert was blessed to share 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Conley. Together, they raised five children, and his family was the center of his life.
He will be remembered for kindness, humility, and unwavering faith. His legacy of service–to his county, his church and his family–will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, brother; Richard, sister; Midge and great-granddaughter; Kaley Miihlbach.
He will always be remembered by those left behind to tell his story, sons, Randy (Cathy) Conley, Gary (Holly) Conley, daughters; Karen (Bill) Farnsworth, Karla (Billy) Forshey, Kelly (Carl) Hill, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 1pm. Visitation will be held on August 20, 2026 from 4 pm to 8 pm and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens after services.
