Paul R. Griffith, 83, of Vienna, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2026, at WVU Medicine Camden Clark. He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late Leonard and Garnet (Weekley) Griffith.
He was a 1960 graduate of Gilmer High School and was a machine operator at OI for twenty years and machinist at Mid Way Machine Shop for twenty years. He was a United States Air Force veteran and served from 1960 to 1964. Paul was a master mechanic and part owner with Ray Gates in 9R Sprinter that raced locally from the mid 60’s to early 80’s.
He is survived by four children Jennifer L. Tobias (Jason) of Goose Creek, SC, Darren A. Griffith (Valerie) of Parkersburg, Michael P. Griffith (Beth) of Vienna, and Charles J. Griffith (Brittany) of Berkeley Springs, WV; grandchildren CJ Cancro Jr. (Gabby), Samantha Cancro, Bryce Tobias, Nicole Tobias, Jacob Lee (Krissy), Jessica Steele (Dustin), Tommy Bosley (Kelsie), Braydan Hupp (Adem), Nora McCowan, Lian Griffith, Kensleigh Griffith, Milo Griffith, Hadley Griffith, Zayden Griffith, Chelsea Griffith (Adam Abbott), Rhylee Griffith, and Lincoln Griffith; great grandchildren Karson Bosley, Waylon Bosley, Cori Bosley, Cason Abbott, Josie Lee, Aurora Hawkins, Theo Hawkins, Leo Hawkins, Ezarias Steele, Adiah Steele; and Murphy Cancro.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years Judy (Jones) Griffith who he met at Demuth Glass, brother Camden Griffith, sister Lula Ann Brode, and nephew Cameron Griffith.
Services will be Wednesday 11:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 6-8 PM.
