Patrick Michael Criss, age 82, of Parkersburg, passed away, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born March 17, 1944, the son of Kenneth E. Criss and Anna Lou and Tony Vitti of Parkersburg. Pat attended Catholic Schools through the 12th grade and graduated in 1962. He proceeded to work for the Dept. of Highways for three years and Mountain State Bank as a loan officer for twenty-five years. After the bank was purchased by WesBanco, he continued to work there for ten years.
He enjoyed Mountaineer sports, golf, Nascar Racing, and loved traveling extensively with his wife, Candy.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth E. Criss and Anna Lou and Tony Vitti; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Theresa Criss; and his beloved son, Anthony C. Alawat.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Candy; his daughters, Stacy L. Davis of Columbus; grandchildren, Abby and Avery Davis of Columbus, and Anthony Alawat of Vienna. Pat is also survived by his in-laws, Wilma J. White of Palm Coast, FL, Virgil K. Greenleaf (Nancy) of Hurricane, WV., Rex W. Greenleaf of Palestine, WV., Nancy K Thompson (Bob) of Falls Church, VA., and William M. Greenleaf (Judy) of Spencer, WV. He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much, and they loved him. They had many good times together.
A memorial service will be held at the Saint Margaret Mary Church on Dudley Avenue. Visitation will be on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Mass following at 12:00 PM with Father Sebastian Devasya officiating. Interment at Mount Carmel Cemetery will be at a later date.
