Larry F. Snodgrass, 77, of Harrisville, WV, departed this life peacefully on July 31, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 12, 1949, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the William and Geneva Snodgrass. Larry graduated from the former Harrisville High School in 1966. After graduation he joined the United States Army serving in the 9th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War from 1969 until 1971. He was honorably discharged on September 16, 1977. Although he spoke little of this time, he was proud to have served his country.
Larry worked for Dominion Energy in Smithville and Grantsville, WV, until his retirement. He attended Hazelgreen Community Church and loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and lived his life as a witness to others. He enjoyed everything hunting and fishing and visiting with family and friends. He had a special love for softball, being a pitcher himself, he had many years of enjoyment helping young ladies in the area become pitchers. He took great pride in the appearance of his home and was often seen on his lawnmower or with a weed eater in his hand. He had a servant's heart and was always willing to help others.
Larry is survived by his wife of 26 years, Evelyn A. Snodgrass, Harrisville, WV; his two sons, Larry “Bub” Snodgrass Jr (Tracy), Hazelgreen, WV, and Russell Anher, Mineral Wells, WV; beloved grandchildren, Dylan Snodgrass, Hazelgreen, WV, and Skylar Ahner, Mineral Wells, WV; close buddy, Eric Ashcraft, Pennsboro, WV, and special cousin, Jimmy Wright, Newark, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Hardbarger.
In keeping with his wishes, funeral services will be held, Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Hazelgreen Community Church with the Pastor Kevin Eakle officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazelgreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11 AM until the hour of the service.
