Joseph Clyde “Joe” Duckworth

Joseph Clyde "Joe" Duckworth, age 76, of Davisville, WV, passed away Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 4, 1950, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Clyde and Virginia Hope Duckworth. Joe was in the first class to graduate from Parkersburg South High School, class of 1968. He previously worked at A.B. Chance and Corning Glass and retired from The Arbors in Marietta where he was a respiratory therapist. Joe was a former forty-year member of the Kanawha United Methodist Church where he served as a certified lay servant and trustee and currently attending Lynn Street Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, writing, was a published writer and an author, having his own book, three times in Reader's Digest and several other publications. He also made models of WWII aircraft, ships and trains.

Joe is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Ann Hall Duckworth; his siblings, Mary Crum (Edward) of Fraziers Bottom, WV, Betty Rebrook (Dale) and John Duckworth (Kristi) all of Mineral Wells; sister-in-law, Linda Duckworth of Mineral Wells and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Crum and his brother, Bob Duckworth.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Jamie Sprague officiating. Burial will follow at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
