Elizabeth Danette Daniell, 72, of Mendham, New Jersey (formerly of Spencer and Parkersburg, WV) passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2026.
Born February 24, 1954, in Spencer, West Virginia, she was the oldest child of the late James Robert "Bob" Daniell, Sr and Virginia Louise "Ginny Lou" Parrish Daniell of Parkersburg, WV. Her younger, surviving siblings include Clerc Daniell of Spencer WV, Christine Daniell Connell (Jim) of University Heights, OH, Frances Daniell Calcutt (Phil) of Oro Valley, AZ and James Robert Daniell, Jr (Heidi) of Greenville, SC.
Danette graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1972 and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in journalism from Colorado State University. Danette worked in the property management and hospitality industries in Vail Colorado and West Virginia for many years before finishing her professional career as a Project Manager in the Oil and Gas industry.
Danette was the beloved mother of Richard “Rick” Lee Lemley and his wife, Stephanie of Parkersburg, WV and Cameron Burgess Lemley and his wife, Kellie of Mendham, NJ. She was so very proud of her boys and their wonderful families and cherished her closeness to them in her later years. Her family was her world and perhaps her greatest joy came from her role as grandmother, whom they called "Net", to her five grandchildren, Zane Lemley, Ian Lemley, Maverick Lemley, Magnolia Lemley, and Maxine Lemley each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to her life. Danette was also the proud aunt to 8 nieces and nephews, and 7 grand nieces and nephews.
Danette was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and weaving on a loom she kept in her home. She had an affinity toward wildlife that was touching and sometimes quite surprising. She fed and cared for a variety of birds, bunnies, etc. and especially enjoyed caring for a family of foxes in her backyard. In her spare time, Danette enjoyed ancestry research and spent countless hours uploading photos and documents for future generations to enjoy.
