Donald "Wayne" Diamond, 64, of Butler, Alabama, passed away at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Born in Demopolis, Alabama, a son of Floyd and Donnie Lawrence Diamond. In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by brothers, Curtis Diamond and Claude Diamond; and one nephew, Hunter Diamond.
He was a skilled diesel mechanic and had worked for Peterbilt. He liked big trucks, motorcycles, fishing, eating good food, cooking out, was known to be a great cook, and he loved Alabama Football.
Wayne loved his family. His big heart and jolly manner were a welcome to everyone around him, and he will be very missed.
Wayne will be carried in the heart of his wife, best friend, and love of his life, Pamela Carney Diamond; sisters, Linda Case (Mike) and Edna Turner (Joseph); several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Carolyn Carney; sisters-in-law, Janice Jonas and Linda Blackwell (Philip); brother-in-law, James Carney Jr.; and his puppy-children, Cody Wayne Diamond and Bailey Joyce Diamond.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Evangelist Matthew Chavis officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. A visitation of family and friends will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
