Rhonda Leigh (Thomas) Dotson

Rhonda Leigh (Thomas) Dotson, 66, of Newark, WV, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 30, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 19, 1960, to the late Richard “Dick” and Lois (Moody) Thomas. On May 18, 1990, Rhonda married Floyd “Grant” Dotson II, and together they shared 36 wonderful years of marriage.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Grant; sister, Pamela Dunn; children, Selina (Steven) Salsbury, Sasha Carter, Drake (Alicia Dooley) Dotson, Taylor Dotson, and Drew (Amber) Dotson; grandchildren, Brayden, Landon, Michael, Chloe, Pierce, Peyton, Stevie Jr., Stacey, and Brandi; great-grandchildren, Aubreigh, Harley, and Fynnleigh; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She enjoyed NASCAR, shopping, flowers, watching the birds she fed, holidays with family, and their annual trips to Daytona Beach. Rhonda was also known for her gift of luck, especially when playing cards or board games with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alan Thomas; and brother-in-law, Randy Dunn.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Matheny Whited Funeral Home. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Jim Bruce officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
