Lane

Lula Francis Lane, 90, of Parkersburg, passed away at her home from natural causes on June 27, 2026. She was born in Franklin County, Virginia, to Callie Pinkard.

Lula was educated as a Nurses Aid. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 25 years and was a caregiver at the Wood County Senior Citizen Center, where she served patients and families with compassion, patience, and dignity. Her work was more than a job to her. It was a ministry of care, and many were blessed by her gentle spirit and dependable presence.

Lula was also a faithful and active member of Zion Baptist Church, where she served as an usher for many years. She welcomed others with warmth and reverence, always ready to extend kindness in the house of the Lord.

She enjoyed simple pleasures that brought her joy and peace. Lula loved walking around town and spending time at the city park. She especially loved being with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, which gave her quiet enjoyment and kept her mind active.

Lula leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always. Her Husband, Lloyd Lane Sr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Catherine Mayo, of Alexandria, Va., and her deceased sisters Martha Pinkard, of Charleston, WV, and Myrtle Goodwin, of Middletown, RI. Her living children, Lloyd Lane Jr. of Parkersburg, WV, Stanley Lane of Roswell, Ga., and Leslie Lane of Portsmouth, Va. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Cedric Lane Sr., Allison Lane, Tara Lane, Eric Lane, and Aaliyah Lane. Her Great Grandchildren Cedric Lane Jr., Anyiah Spencer, Cameron Lane, Isaiah Lane, Adalynn Lane, and her Great- Great Grandchildren Jacob Lane, and Kamari Lane. Each of them carries a part of her love, her wisdom, and her enduring spirit. Rest in Peace, Love your family.
