Kathryn R. Pennington (Katey), 67, of Greenwood, IN, went home to be with the Lord, her parents, and relatives on June 30, 2026. Although she left this Earth way too soon, she is no longer in physical pain.
Katey was born and raised in Parkersburg, WV. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1977 and went on to earn a Finance Degree from West Virginia University in 1981 where she was a proud member of the Chi Omega Sorority.
She worked for 22 years as an underwriter and product manager with Nationwide Insurance. Once she left Nationwide, she ran a successful Mary Kay Cosmetics business.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Scott Pennington, children Kristin (Sergey) Struck, John (Elizabeth) Pennington, and grandchildren Elliott, Charlotte, and Tyson. She is also survived by her brother John Roberts and sisters-in-law Bec and Valerie Roberts.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen, parents John V. and Catherine Roberts, and brother William Roberts.
Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and to cheer on the West Virginia Mountaineers.
A Celebration of Life will be held July 18, 2026 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at Indiana Funeral Care at 2433 East Main Street in Greenwood, IN 46143. Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Johnson County in lieu of flowers. Katey always supported second chance adoptions.
