John Paul Mozuke, of Williamstown, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Fairmont Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Fairmont, WV, of natural causes. He was born on March 1, 1941, in Hutchinson, a small subdevelopment of Worthington, WV the son of the late Mike Mozuke and Mary (Mascak) Mozuke.
John was lucky enough to grow up in Hutchinson surrounded by multiple extended family members.
He had many aunts, uncles, and first cousins just a few houses away. He graduated from Monongah (WV) High School in 1960 where he lettered in baseball, football, and basketball. Upon graduation, he married Sue (Crim) Mozuke of Enterprise, WV and enlisted in the US Army. The couple was briefly stationed in Texas before John was sent to Korea. After serving his country, the couple returned to West Virginia and raised their children in Williamstown, WV, where they made their residence until they entered a skilled nursing facility together in late 2025.
In his younger years, John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and vacationing in Myrtle Beach, SC with his family. In his later years, John could be found sitting on the front porch with his wife Sue, feeding the squirrels and talking to neighbors.
In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, George Mozuke of Williamstown, WV and his brother-in-law, Jerry Acord of Pittsburgh, PA.
He is survived by his three children: Tammy Cinalli and her husband Mark of Mineral Wells, WV; Lisa Hornberger and her husband Chuck of Fairmont, WV; and John Mozuke of Hutchinson, WV, his three grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as "Papaw": Andrew Cinalli of Mineral Wells, WV; Phillip Cinalli of Mineral Wells, WV; and Ciara Hornberger of Fairmont, WV; and his sister Deanna Acord of Monroeville, PA.
The family has entrusted Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston, WV with the cremation and burial at IOOF Cemetery in Enterprise, WV. Following John's wishes, the family will mourn his passing with a private family gathering.
