Jared David Stephens, 50, of Parkersburg, passed away July 23, 2026. He was born in Parkersburg, WV, on May 1, 1976, a son of Joyce D. (Wolfe) Stephens of Parkersburg, WV, and the late David Milford Stephens.
He was co-owner and operator of the Dawg Spa and attended North Parkersburg Baptist Church.
Jared is survived by his wife, Sarah Stephens of Parkersburg, and two children, Austin Lyons (Brandi) of Parkersburg and Brayden Stephens of Parkersburg, and one grandson, Kodi Lyons.
He was a 1994 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. While attending Parkersburg South High, he was a starting member and Co-Captain of their Varsity Soccer Team. He also was a member of Madrigal Singers and Honors Choir for the school.
Jared also played on an Olympic Development team for West Virginia for soccer, a select team for Wood County, and several other teams throughout the state while in junior high and high school, and he was an Eagle Scout as well.
He was a Master and Sixth-Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and competed in National Olympic Teams. He placed Third in Tulsa, OK, and Fourth in Cincinnati, OH.
He was a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Sociology.
While at Marshall, he traveled with a select group for choir and performed at the Spoleto Festival in Charlotte and the Citadel.
He played bass guitar for several bands throughout WV and Ohio. He loved many different styles of music.
Cremation services are entrusted to the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
