Curtis Woodrow Dickson, fondly known to some as “Dandy Dickie,” passed away peacefully on June 26th, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on June 10th, 1945, in Lubbock, Texas, to Velma and Johnnie “Woody” Dickson.

Curtis dedicated his life to the betterment of the public health system. He was well known for being an unrelenting, compassionate man.

He is survived by his second wife, Ruth Fox Dickson; his children Jeff (Beth), Matt (LeAnna), Jennifer (Bud) and Angela (Andy); Five step-children; 40 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; One great-great grandchild and his loving sister, Sandra Keith.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Louis Dickson, as well as sisters, Barbara Clark and Sharon Bradley.

A funeral service will be held at North End Church of Christ on Thursday, July 2nd, at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
