Paul R. Pierce Jr.

Paul R. Pierce Jr., 73, of Mineral Wells, WV, died Saturday May 30, 2026, at Camden Clark-WVU. He was born in South Charleston, WV, a son of the late Paul R. and Orpha Mae (Wolfe) Pierce.

He graduated from Winfield High School and Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston). Paul was a teacher for Wood County Board of Education for thirty-nine years, and taught at Franklin Junior High School and Jackson Middle School. He coached girls and boys basketball as well as helping with football and track.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years Mary Beth (Young) Pierce; sister Joyce White of Spencer, WV; nephews Bruce White of Spencer, WV, Brian White of Atlanta, GA, JD Marion of St Albans, Grant Rooper of Scott Depot; and niece Callie Rooper of Scott Depot.

Graveside services will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-8 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
