Fay H. Harper, 89, of Nutter Farm community, Cairo, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior at Marietta Memorial Hospital on June 26, 2026. He was born March 19, 1937, a son of the late Earl and M. Pearl Scadden Harper. He was a graduate of Cairo High School with the class of 1955. He married his high school sweetheart, Anna Faye Moss, and they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in 2025.
Fay was the loving father of Kathleen White (William), St. Marys, Beverly Severns (Bert), Hartwell, GA, Ronald Harper (Teresa), Ellenboro, and Lisa Harper (Malcolm), Lavonia, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda White, Ryan Bunner, Tyler Bunner, Derek Bunner, Valerie Hutson, Kristin Mayhew, Morgan Gatrell, Megan Hinzman, Aaron Hinzman, and Zane Hinzman. He was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren. Fay was predeceased by his parents, son-in-law, William White, and his siblings, Wilmer Harper, Jennie Varner, and Charlotte Jackson.
Fay retired from DuPont Washington Works after 34 years, his last several years as a maintenance mechanic. Fay was known for his woodworking skills, his love of hunting and trout fishing, his fun outgoing personality and for nicknaming everyone. He also loved to travel. He and Anna Faye spent 15 winters in the Florida Keys and were baptized in the Gulf of Mexico, a very memorable event for them both. He enjoyed a trip to Alaska before his health failed in 2016, a trip that he’s hoped to take again. Fay was a member of the Oldies Four Wheelers Club and a member of the Harrisville Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, WV, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 2pm with Pastor Robert Perine officiating. A graveside service will be immediately following the funeral service at Terry Cemetery on Glendale Road. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11am until the hour of the service.
