Carol Dennison
Carol Dennison, 87, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at her residence,
Daughter of the late James Ralph McClain and Elsie Marie McClain, Carol was born August 27, 1938, in Roanoke, WV. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community. Carol dedicated 27 years of her professional life to her work at G.E. Plastics.
After retiring, she continued to enrich her life and the lives of those around her through her faith and involvement with the South Parkersburg Baptist Church, South Hills Golf Course, Shannon Green Golf Course in Manning, SC, and the South Parkersburg Women’s Club. Her passions included golfing, crafting, and playing bingo, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Carol’s warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, William “Bill” Jackson Dennison I; brother, James C. McClain; and grandson, William “Billy” Dennison III.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Pamela “Pam” Green; sons, William “Skip” Dennison II (Eliza) and Rodney “Rod” Dennison (Shelly); sister, Zita Stockert; brother, William “Bill” McClain (Helen); grandchildren, Lacey Metz (Adam), Scott Dennison (Dave Morgan), Rachel Thomas (Scott), and Jake Dennison (Emily); great-grandchildren, William Metz, Max Dennison, Chance Bailey, Wyatt Thomas, Cora Thomas, Alana Zebe, Sawyer Dennison, Case Dennison, and soon-to-arrive, Koda Dennison; and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Adoration Hospice and a special thank you to all the amazing caretakers who assisted with Carol and the gentle and compassionate care they gave her.
Funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home Pike. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until time of service. A private cremation will follow and her final resting place will be Sunset Memorial Gardens.
