Barbara Ann Cline, 81 of Parkersburg, West Virginia, gained her angel wings on June 1, 2026. Barbara was born on May 6, 1945. She was a loving and adored wife, mother, and grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Emogene and Clifford Leep. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 64 years, Larry B. Cline. In addition, she is survived by two sons, David Cline and Thomas Cline; her five grandchildren, Amber Otto (Jason), Brandi Reed (Thomas), Justin Cline, Jeffery Cline, and Kourtney Bowden (Michael); and her ten great-grandchildren, Bryant Nedeff, Arianna Nedeff, Mason Cline, Raven Cline, Caleb Reed, Caden Reed, Madeline Bowden, Jonothan Bowden, Sophia Bowden, and Clara Bowden.
Barbara was born to nurture and found beauty in nature. She spent her life caring for those she loved. She cherished time with family which included playing board games and cards, family birthday parties, and countless holiday traditions. She was known for preparing delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. She found peace sitting on her back porch watching deer, turkeys, birds, and other animals that wandered through her yard.
Barbara was a lifelong learner who pursued her career in education while raising a family. She graduated with an Associate in Arts degree from Parkersburg Community College in 1980 and went on to graduate Cum Laude from Glenville State College on May 9, 1987, with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She dedicated her career to teaching in Wood County Schools and retired in 2008. Her passion for teaching was evident in everything she did. She loved sharing stories of her years in the classroom, especially about her students who always held a special place in her heart.
Barbara’s life was defined by her love of family, dedication to learning, and her appreciation of simple joys in the world. She will be forever deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of her family who love her so very much!
A private family gathering will be held at Leavitt Funeral Services on Monday, June 8, 2026.
