Winters

Phillip B. Winters, age 90, of Elizabeth, WV, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Camden Clark Medical Center.

He was born July 3, 1935, in Lost Creek, WV, a son of the late Wilson B. and Ada Loraine Hall Winters. Phillip was retired from the Wirt County High School, where he was the Vo-Ag/FFA teacher with over 34 years of service. He enjoyed working with his students and their families. Phillip was the Wirt County FFA Advisor for many years, where his wife, Betty enjoyed helping him. He loved helping with the Wirt County Fair and Wirt County Beef Barbecues. Phil and his wife were life time members of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church and members of the WV Chapter of the Good Sam’s Camping Club.

Phil is survived by his three daughters, Janet Spaur (David) of Mineral Wells, WV, Anita Hoover (Scott) of Elizabeth, WV and Lisa Pollard (Charlie) of Edmond, OK; six grandchildren, Beth (Josh) Schwendeman of Lowell, OH, Matt (Lindsay) Spaur of Parkersburg, Brian (Michelle) Crouser of Mancos, CO, Chad (Brooke) Crouser of Williamstown, WV, Michael (Kelsey) Fulmer of Edmond, OK and Austin (Danielle) Fulmer of Edmond, OK; five great-grandchildren, Miles Fulmer, Sadie Fulmer, Harper Spaur, Wesley Spaur and West Phillip Crouser and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Winters on May 9, 2026, and his brother, Paul W. Winters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg with Pastors Teresa Adams and Dwight Goff officiating. Interment will follow at the K of P Cemetery, Elizabeth. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

The family would like to thank Charlene Johnston, Brenda Villers and Jeanna Miller for their compassionate care given to Phil.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the FFA Wirt County High School Chapter, 431 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth, WV 26143, in memory of Phil.
