Nancy Rae (Coors) Turner, 75, of Cypress, TX, passed away peacefully Friday March 27, 2026.
Nancy was born March 31, 1950, to Louis E. Coors and Sara Lou (Butcher) Coors in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and a generous friend to many.
Nancy graduated from Parkersburg High School. She had an active career in sales. First working at Dudley’s Florist in high school and going on to own her own flower shop in Texas named Cedar Point Flowers. She continued her career by being the top seller and winning many accolades at Star Furniture. She had an eye for creating, a gift of listening and a talent for giving insightful advice.
She was a faithful member of Life Giving Ministries where she was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. You could often find her attending morning Bible study, teaching summer school Bible lessons or crafting flower arrangements for the women’s retreats. One of her favorite Bible verses was Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
She loved watching true crime shows while crocheting, reading mysteries, gardening and working on puzzles. She always had her door open for family; always welcoming them with a smile and a place to stay.
She is survived by her two children Patrick Turner of Crozet, VA, husband to Dr. Susie Jones and Carrie Weidenhammer of Cypress, TX, wife of Greg Weidenhammer. Nancy is also survived by her sisters Joan Whitlatch and Linda Connolly and her 4 grandchildren: Matthew, Charlotte, Emerson and Benjamin.
A time of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16th at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday noon to 1:45 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
