Lindell Wayne Elder, 69, of Parkersburg passed away May 17, 2026 at his residence. He was born December 5, 1956, a son to the late Floyd Rondal Elder and Mildred Ruth Elder (Allen). “Elder The Welder” worked as a bridge welder for WV Dept. of Highways and served in the US Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved working on old cars. Lindell was a member of Stout United Methodist Church, and a devoted caregiver to his parents in their later years.
Surviving Lindell are his daughters Katty Ann Gilbert (Craig) of Cambridge, OH and Angela Kay Wotring (Jon) of Little Hocking, OH; grandchildren Kameron Gilbert (Myshelle), Bryce Gilbert (Katelyn), Cassidy Gilbert, Paiten Wotring, Ryan Wotring, and Corey Wotring; sister Ruth Lanette Kuhnash (Greg) ; brother Gary Lee Elder (Joy), and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Lindell is preceded in death by his sister Sandra Ann Elder and dear friend and uncle Alfred Allen.
A memorial service for Lindell will be held Wednesday, May 27, at Leavitt Funeral Home, at 6pm. Visitation will be from 5-6pm the same day. As per his wishes, his remains will be cremated and buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date.
