Dorothy Pearl Welch

Dorothy Pearl Welch, 94, of Vienna, WV, passed away on May 14, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1931, to the late William and Hazel Hoover.

Dorothy was married to the love of her life, Lloyd Welch, until he passed away in 1986. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 24 years. Dorothy retired to enjoy her life with her family and friends. She enjoyed wearing hats and the color blue. Dorothy didn’t know any strangers; she always made everyone feel welcome. She attended the Hope Freewill Baptist Church on Winding Road, where she was a very active member.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by those she left behind; sons, Kenneth Welch, Danny Welch; daughter, Mona Jenkins; brothers, Gary Hoover, Denver Hoover; grandchildren, Angie Lott, Brian Welch, Chyrse Jenkins and Steven Jenkins; and 8 great grandchildren. They will miss her beautiful smile and all the time they spent together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, her parents; daughter, Ceola Kay Cantley; sister, Edith Ellis; brothers, William Carl, Donald, Virgil, and Bernard.

A service will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The visitation will be an hour before the service.
