Rex Allen Scarbrough

Rex Allen Scarbrough, 69, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away April 4, 202, at Ruby Memorial in Morgantown, WV.

He was born February 2, 1957, a son of the late Daniel Scarbrough and Thelma Metz Scarbrough.

Rex honorably retired from the Ohio National Guard and later worked at Parkersburg Country Club and Woodridge Plantation Golf Course, where he enjoyed spending time outdoors and connecting with others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Elizabeth Scarbrough; two sons, Rex Scarbrough Jr. of Vienna, WV, Bryan (Stacy) Taylor of Parkersburg, WV; two daughters, Stephanie Scarbrough of Marietta, OH, Melissa Scarbrough of Caldwell, WV; sister, Brenda Scarbrough of Marietta, OH; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be 4PM to 8PM Thursday April 16, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral will be 11 AM Friday April 17, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
