Monica Leah Mannon

MANNON

Monica Leah Mannon, born January 19, 1958, daughter of Ray Cleo Mannon and Ladena Mae Ellis Mannon, peacefully went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Monica was predeceased by her parents, brother Derik Ray Mannon and her grandparents.

Monica is survived by her sister Manya McCallister (Rod), sister-in-law Nancy Humphrey Mannon, sister Nancy Mannon, Aunt Fay Mannon-Rahoi (Dennis), nephews Brandon McCallister, Bradley McCallister (Brittany and family), nieces Elizabeth Mannon Cravero (Gabriel and family) and Catherine Mannon Deffendall (Patrick and family); and many great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and people she met along her journey.

Monica grew up in Huntington, WV (Olive Baptist Church) and lived in Parkersburg, WV (First Mission Baptist) for almost 30 years before moving to Asheville, NC (First Methodist Church of Asheville), then moved to Fort Myers, FL (New Hope Presbyterian Church), before moving to NJ in 2024.

Monica graduated from Barboursville High School (1976) and Marshall University.

Over her professional career, Monica worked for Monterey Coal Company; Jabo Supply Corporation; and 33 years at McJunkin Corporation before retiring in 2020.

Monica loved God, her family, animals, our nation, and of course sports … those beloved Cincinnati Bengals. She played softball for decades, then took up golfing, always staying active.

Monica was known for her quick wit and fierce loyalty, as well as her blunt, independent, impish and mischievous spirit that never grew up. Monica had a heart filled with love and generosity and will be greatly missed.

She will be buried at Forest Memorial Park in Milton, WV, with her family. Services coordinated by Wallace Funeral Home of Barboursville, WV.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Brain Donor Project or to an animal shelter of your choice.
