Marlene Wuchner Sheridan

Sheridan

I am writing my own obituary so you will know what a wonderful and fulfilling life I have had. Also I do not want my children to stress about what to write. My name was Marlene Wuchner Sheridan. I was born February 19, 1952, in Clarksburg, WV. My happiest childhood memories were going to Maple Lake in Bridgeport with my family in the summer; sled riding down Gene’s Hill in Broad Oaks; going out to play after breakfast and not coming back home till the front porch light came on. My happiest adult memory is finding the love of my life David Sheridan (how we met is a story for another time).

Fast forward to being the mother of two fantastic children, Vincent Post III and Claudine Woodyard. They have been a source of continual joy and pride to my life. Then they were smart to choose spouses who loved them as much as I do, Christine Ingram Post and Chad Woodyard. With my David, I also garnered stepson John who brought along his wife Jackie. With my three wonderful children came four grandsons. Trevor and Jacob Woodyard, who called me “Just”; V.J. Post IV, who called me “Grammy”; and Brinsley Sheridan, who called me “Marlene.”

I lived a full and wonderful life with my family and friends. Happy places were vacations at Deep Creek Lake and Lake Anna with family and “adopted” grandson Landon. I hated cooking so my idea of providing home cooking for family was either at local restaurants or take out, which we did frequently. I always said the lunches and dinners with my two Lisa’s, Tammie, and Sally were better than any visit to a psychiatrist. My daily phone calls to my sister Marilyn kept me grounded. Her sense of humor always kept me chuckling. My brothers Michael and Mark always had my back.

I am survived by brother Michael Wuchner (Regina); sister Marilyn Fox (Bill); brother Mark Wuchner (Donna); nieces Amanda (Dave) Harris; Abigail (Court) Kirby; Wendy (Jason) Wuchner Minigh and Jennifer Wuchner; Kaden and Nelson Wuchner; Katie Sheridan Perrine (Jason) and brother-in-law Rich Sheridan. There are three great nieces and two great nephews. Also cousins MaryAnn, Beth, and Susan.

I was preceded in death by my husband David, mother Helen, father Lewis, stepdad Hillis, cousin Mary Jo and sister-in-law Ann Sheridan.
