Janet MacIver

Janet MacIver, 66, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and formerly of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on March 27. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Geneva; her brother, Mike; her sisters, Joyce and Terry; and her brother-in-law, Rick. Janet is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Chris, Lisa (Dan), John (Lori), and Pat as well as her sister-in-law, Dee. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, to whom she was affectionately known as “Aunt Janny,” Aric (Stephanie), Arica (Jason), Jeremiah (Dena), Becca (Jason), Jesse (Jamie), Christina, Lucas (Corrin), Emma, Cody (Michelle), Cole (Mariah), Bret (Hannah), Brittany, Emily, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School, Class of 1977, Janet went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in business management from Walsh University.

She enjoyed a long and successful 37-year career with GE Capital and Synchrony Financial before retiring. Janet found joy in many simple pleasures throughout her life, including reading, quilting, sewing, baking, and traveling.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at Burnt Hill Community Church Fellowship Hall, 304 Burnt Hill Road, Williamstown, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Foodbank, 6852 Market Avenue North, Canton, OH. Arrangements were entrusted to Schneeberger-Oser Funeral Home in Canton, Ohio.
