Elladean Rose “Deanie” Vance, Van Fossen, Kendall, departed to be with The Lord on March 28, 2026 in Parkersburg, WV. Deanie was born on July 8, 1932 in Parkersburg, WV .
She graduated from PHS in 1950. She married Roy Van Fossen in 1949 and started working at the McCans, Grant Store. She also worked for Bill And Roys shoe store in Southside. She started with Corning Glass Works in 1959, in the shipping and warehouse department until 1992. Deanie was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was active in helping in the Necessity Pantry, in the kitchen, and with Fellowship dinners. Deanie also loved being one of the “Greeters.” Deanie loved to bowl with her friends at Pike St. Lanes. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Blood Donor Center and a long time volunteer for Camden Clark Hospital, Salvation Army, and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her children, Sandy Allman (Mike), Rick Van Fossen (Tammy), Terry Guice (Bob), and Becky Hicks, her 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norm Kendall, her brother John Mcgillivary, son-in-law Rick Hicks and her sister Eloise Andrews (Glen).
A funeral service for Deanie will be held Saturday, April 11, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, at 1pm, Pastor Kurt Busiek presiding. Visitation will be held the same day from 11am-1pm. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
