Douglas McLaurine Hall, 75, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Sept. 8, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV surrounded by his family. He was born September 9, 1950, a son to the late Dr. William M. Hall MD III and Anne Dudley Hall.
Doug graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1968 and Fairmont State College in 1972. A staple of the local business community, Doug spent 44 years at Dudley’s Florist. He began his career learning the ropes of the multi-generational family shop and eventually took the helm as owner, a role he held until selling the business in 2018.
Doug was a man of the outdoors and deep traditions. He was a fixture at the beach every summer and spent winters skiing at Snowshoe with close friends and family. He was an avid fisherman and cyclist, always in search of “the perfect ride.”
Surviving Doug are his wife Peggy Hall; daughter Sarah Flanagan (Rudy); son Matt Hall (Anne); grandchildren Lauren Flanagan, Anna Flanagan and Finnegan Hall, and brother Daniel Hall and his wife Perla.
Along with his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his brother David Hall and grandfather Dr. William “Mac” McLaurine Hall II.
Funeral Services for Doug will be held Thursday, April 23rd, at 11am, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, WV. Visitation will be held Wednesday the 22nd from 2-4pm, and 6-8pm, and again an hour before the service on Thursday.
As per his wishes, Doug’s remains will be cremated and laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg, WV.
