Willis J. Ridenour

Willis J. Ridenour of Largo, Florida, formerly of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on March 15, 2026 at the age of 91 years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janice Foster Ridenour. He was born in Stone Creek, Ohio and graduated from Stone Creek High School. He graduated from The Ohio State University and he loved his Buckeyes; he received his Masters Degree from Oklahoma University. Willis spent his young life working on the family dairy farm and after graduating college, he spent 39 years working for the Federal Government in Soil Conservation. After retirement, he volunteered for several organizations in Parkersburg, WV. Between the ages of 50 to 85 years old, he was an avid runner completing numerous races in the area as well as 10 Boston Marathons. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Venetta Beaber Ridenour; Wesley Ridenour (son); Lucille (sister) Montan and Jake Montan (brother in law); Marsha Ridenour (sister-in-law). Surviving is one brother, Kenneth Ridenour of Stone Creek Ohio; one sister, Rosalie Kandel and her husband, Ken of Sugarcreek, Ohio. He is survived by 1 son, Gene (Christy) McCutcheon, of Jacksonville, Fl. Also surviving are 5 daughters, Linda Ridenour (Jeff) Long of Longmont, CO; Lisa Ridenour Wilson of South Weber, UT; Julie Ridenour (Ken Harcrow) of Arlington, TX; Julie McCutcheon (Jon) Law of Parkersburg, WV; Sarah Ridenour (Doug) Robinson of Little Elm, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren: Zachary (Cynthia) McCutcheon; Brittany (Orlando) McCutcheon Redrino; Joshua (Jessica) Long; McKenna Long (Travis) Chambers; Theo Ridenour; Amelia Ridenour; Andrew (Brittney) Wilson; Linda Wilson (R.J.) Perry; Courtney Law (Cameron) Resuta; Luca Robinson and Jude Robinson. Great grandchildren: Cannon, Jace, and Paisley Wilson; Wren Chambers; Collin and Mateo McCutcheon; Quinn and Hayden Perry; Charlotte Resuta. Per Willis’s request, he will be cremated with no visitation or funeral and his ashes taken to the Evans Creek Cemetery at the Evans Creek Lutheran Church in Stone Creek Ohio. A family celebration for Willis will be held at the Ridenour Dairy Farm this summer.
