Timothy Thompson Miller
Timothy Thompson Miller gave up his battle with cancer and passed away on March 20th 2026 at the age of 79 at his home in Washington, West Virginia. He was born in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late Clifford and Patricia Miller, on August 19th, 1946.
Tim is remembered and missed by his loving partner Jan Hutchins, and business partner Randy Kinsolving. He is survived by his former wife Judith Ball, their sons Scott Miller and Stace Miller, grandchildren Brody Miller, Darienne Stephens (Drake) and great grandson Hunter Stephens.
He graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1964, and attended West Virginia Institute of Technology where he majored in Electrical Engineering. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War from 1967-1970 and was an electronics Technician aboard the USS Mitscher.
After returning to Parkersburg, he worked for the cable company and helped build WXIL-FM and WKYG. Later that year he started his own business, Miller Communications, providing CB and emergency radios communications for the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Tim was an avid HAM operator and was a member of the Parkersburg Amateur Radio Klub (PARK) with a call sign of WB8MOI. He enjoyed talking to others all over the world. He loved vacationing in North Myrtle Beach where he learned the Carolina Shag Dance, the official dance of South Carolina. He, along with Jan, brought the dance to the area in 2004 forming the Mid-Ohio Valley Shaggers dance club and provided DJ services for the club from his personal music library.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday 6:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Humane Society of Parkersburg, PO Box 392 Parkersburg, WV.
