Teddy Joe Brookover

Teddy Joe Brookover, 80, of Vienna, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior March 3, 2026. He was born October 3, 1945, the son of the late Reverend Earl and Goldie Brookover.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Pauline “Bunt” Brannon, Edith “Tootie” James, Earl “Bud” Brookover, Charles Brookover and Larry “Mike” Brookover and his beloved loyal German Sheppard “Hans.”

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Janet Louise Vincent Brookover; two sons Scott and William Brookover of Vienna, WV; three siblings James Brookover of Vincent, Oh, Mary Ann (Leon) Valentine Parkersburg, WV and Susie Hornbeck of Newark, WV along with several nieces and nephews and his close friends Dakota Goldsberry and son Lincoln, Josiah Goldsberry and son Logan, whom he referred to as his grandchildren.

Joe’s career throughout his life was in the plumbing and heating business from which he retired in 2016. He was also a member of the United States Army Reserve.

Joe was instrumental in bringing Southern Gospel music groups to the Parkersburg and Vienna areas for many years. He considered this to be his calling. He enjoyed helping people in any way possible. He always enjoyed a good laugh and loved life. He attended Cornerstone Gospel Church in Vienna, WV.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him on this side of eternity. We’ll meet you again just inside the Eastern Gate brother Joe!

Services will be held at the Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg on Tuesday, March 10th at 11:00 am at the Leavitt with Pastor Jon Lands and Pastor Leon Valentine officiating

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Monday 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
