Ronald Flanders, 83, of Guysville, OH, passed peacefully Wednesday, March 4, 2026, in Parkersburg, WV. Born April 9, 1942, in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of Howard and Myrtle Calaway Flanders. Ronnie was a 1960 graduate of Shade High School and retired from DuPont Chemical in 2001 after thirty-six years of service. He loved to farm, bail hay, and finish mowing his thirty-seven acre “yard.” He had a passion for antique tractors and was the proud owner of a restored 1953 Allis Chalmers WD. Old cars were also his thing, as he enjoyed attending classic car shows. From Sparky Anderson and the Big Red Machine to Elly De La Cruz and the current day Reds he was a big fan. He enjoyed attending their games, watching on TV and listening on the radio. He is survived by two sons, Timothy (Deanna) Flanders and Todd (Erica) Flanders; five grandchildren, Colby, Joshua, Anissa, Kyra and Derin; many great grandchildren and his special friend, Carol Kirk. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandy; a daughter, Lauren Lynne Jabour; one brother, Larry; one sister, Kathleen Jackson and the mother of his children, Jeanne Flanders. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens, Ohio with Monte McCune officiating. Burial will be in the Asbury Cemetery, Carthage Township, in Athens County. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Hughes Funeral Home.
