Robert “Bob” Miller

Robert “Bob” Miller, age 98, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Ohio Valley Health Care from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on November 23, 2025.

Bob was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 175 where he worked as a freight hauler, shop steward, and contract negotiator. He was also an Army veteran, serving with the 88th Infantry Division during WWII in Italy.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Jean “Jinx” Holland Miller; parents Otto “Pop” and Maymie Miller; sister Lavenia “Sis” Soma (Mike); brothers, Ottis “Bud” Miller (Florence “Chick”), Bernard “Ben” Miller (Alice); infant brother Coy; and a special niece Julia Baker.

He is survived by his sons Michael Miller (Kathryn) of Washington, WV, Matthew Miller (Stephanie) of Parkersburg, and Mark Miller of Parkersburg; daughters Teresa Cunningham (Allen) of Belpre, OH, and Tina Howard of Vienna, WV; grandchildren, Norman, Misty, Robert, Jason, Shane, Angela, Angelita, Leighann, Brandy, Shawn, Chad, Chaz, and Sam; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; friend Paul Kupferburg; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Chihuahua, Coco.

Bob was widely regarded in the Mid-Ohio Valley as a motivating example of how to embrace every day and make the most of life. A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Bob loved riding his Harley with family and friends. He was featured in The Parkersburg News and Sentinel at the age of 90. On the day of his accident, he was 97 years old, just 12 days shy of his 98th birthday.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Pastor Mark James officiating. Services will conclude with interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Military Honors by American Legion Post 15. The Miller family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the funeral home.
