Robert (Bob) Edmond McNicholas passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 85.
Bob was born on August 25, 1940, in Phillipsburg,to the late Thelma and Frank McNicholas.
Bob retired from Union Carbide after 35 years of service. He was gifted with extraordinary musical talent and played several musical instruments, his favorites being the saxophone and piano. Over the years, he shared this gift by teaching hundreds of students music lessons. In retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling, spending time outdoors, camping, and fishing with his wife and family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary; sister, Gayle Rush, and her son Stephen Rush; his children, Michael (Brenda), Robert (Kelly), Christine Crump, and Patricia Hammers; three stepchildren, Debbie (Curt) Blimline, Michael (Sharon) Battin, Timothy (Sasha) Battin; and 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved stepdaughter, Marcella Breedlove, and his sons-in-law, William Crump and Harry Hammers.
Bob was passionate about his faith and participated in many ministries throughout his life. He served others through his gifts of music, visitation, and charity. His family is comforted knowing that he is safely in the arms of Jesus and that they will see him again.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 14 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 1934 Dupont Rd., Parkersburg, WV 26101. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the service will follow.
