Linda Susan Yost

Linda Susan Yost, a radiant soul whose unquenchable love for life touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by the family she cherished above all else — holding her beloved mother’s hand in a final, tender moment of connection. Born on July 13, 1952, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, as the eldest daughter of David Ray Bailey (deceased) and Norma Fay Bailey, Linda grew up with a spirit as vibrant as the flowers she adored, blooming into a woman of boundless curiosity, kindness, and joy.

From the moment she said “I do” to Lee Allen Yost, the unwavering love of her entire life, on January 15, 1972, their partnership became a beautiful testament to enduring devotion. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and adventure — whether embarking on travels to far-off places that fed her curious heart or simply savoring quiet moments at home in Vincent, Ohio, with Lee by her side and their beloved grandkids tumbling about. Linda’s love for her family was absolute and profound; she poured her heart into her three sons — Matthew (Daphne), David (Ashley), and Clifford (Anastasia) — guiding them with gentle wisdom and endless encouragement. But it was her ten grandchildren — James, Joseph, Preston, Oliver, Eleanor, Penelope, Oscar, Edgar, Samuel, and Theodore — who truly lit up her world. They were her greatest joy, the center of her universe, and she delighted in every hug, story, and shared adventure, creating memories that will forever bloom in their hearts.

Linda’s passions painted her life in vivid colors. A master gardener with an extraordinary gift for nurturing plants and flowers of every variety, she transformed gardens into living masterpieces, coaxing beauty from the earth with the same tender care she gave her family. Her hands, so skilled and creative, also wove magic through quilting, crafting heirlooms that wrapped her loved ones in warmth and stories. Her curiosity knew no bounds — she dreamed of constant travels, exploring the world’s wonders, yet found equal bliss in the simple pleasures of home, surrounded by those she held dear.

She is survived by her devoted husband Lee, her sons and their families, her sisters Patricia Richards (Albert) and Rhonda Cain (Jeff, deceased), her brother Michael Bailey (Debbie), and a wide circle of friends who were drawn to her kind, life-loving spirit like bees to her blooming flowers.

In honoring Linda’s legacy of love and vitality, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where stories will flow, laughter will echo, and her enduring light will shine on. In lieu of sorrow, let us remember her as she lived: with open arms, a curious heart, and an unbreakable bond to family, nature, and the sheer joy of being alive.
