John Jeffery Doan

John Jeffery Doan, 61, of Parkersburg, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio, and he was a son of the late John and Joanne Pickering Doan.

John was a graduate of Marietta College and worked in employment recruiting for Plexus Scientific Business IT and Environmental Solutions. He was a Methodist by faith.

He appreciated quality experiences, showing an interest in antiques, dining at upscale establishments, and consistently presenting himself with distinguished style.

John’s absence will be profoundly felt by those closest to him, his longtime partner Rob Hyde Jr; cherished friends Candace Burdette, Mary Lou Fought, Lee Neville, Jill Dean, Cully Mathis, and Michael Simmons; siblings Steve Doan (with Brandie), and Melissa Dalrymple (with Bud); several nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved cats, Jacqueline and Susann.

Per John’s request, there will be no public services.

In place of other forms of remembrance, donations in memory of John are requested to the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation at 1620 Park Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101.
