Jean Martin

Jean L. Martin, 96, of Parkersburg, passed away March 27, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born September 12, 1929, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Nolan R. and Jenny Summers Miracle.

Mrs. Martin was employed by Eramet-Union Carbide and Elkem Metals for several years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended Pleasantview Baptist Church later in life.

Jean excelled in several sports, especially Softball and Bowling in her early years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandkids.

Surviving are her children: Randall Martin (Teresa) of Davisville, Tami Martin of Concord, NC, Debbie Burton (Jamie) of Elizabeth and Dee Richards (Tim) of Mineral Wells along with 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and sister Sue Palmer of Parkersburg.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, William Franklin Martin, brother Clyde Miracle, sister Annalea Miracle and grandson Tyler Richards.

Funeral services will be Monday 11AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with her Son-in-Law, Pastor Jamie Burton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-5PM and one hour prior to services.
