Diana Lee (Grass) Gibson

Diana Lee (Grass) Gibson, 64, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away on March 21, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family, after a short battle with lung cancer.

She was born January 6, 1962, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Ethel “Virginia” (Cumberledge) and Stanford “Geneo” Grass. She was a 1980 graduate of Parkersburg South High School. Diana was employed for 21 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg, where she served as a Patient Care Technician and later as a Medical Secretary. She continued her career as a Medical Secretary working with Dr. James “Spy” Spychalski at several local practices.

She was known for her strong work ethic, straightforward nature, and dedication to those she served. She took great pride in caring for others and formed lasting relationships with both coworkers and patients.

Surviving are her children, Calvin Gibson II, Tesa Hess (Eric), Rachel Day (Brandon), and Katie Gibson; her grandchildren, Adriana, Annabell, and Gabriel Gibson, Aleah and Avah Hess, Alaina and Erin Day, and Aria and Landon Bland; her sister, Katheryn Gibson; her brother, Troy Smith; and several extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Gibson; her son, Stanford Gibson; her brother, Russell Grass; and her sisters, Melissa Grass and Carol Richards.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to MOV Cremation Society. No public services will be held. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, check the MOV Cremation Society website for details.
