David Morris Fleming
David Morris Fleming
David Morris Fleming (Dave) passed on to Eternal Glory and met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 14 at his home with his loving wife, Jamie (Brown) Fleming, by his side.
He courageously fought Parkinson’s Disease for 25 years. He was a relentless warrior, never one to complain, and fought hard to live “just one more day” to be with his family.
Dave was a loving, devoted and proud Father to his three sons: Christopher Fleming (Sandrina), NC, Michael Fleming (Bethany), KY, David Fleming (Melissa), VA and his two stepchildren, Ryan Harnish (Laura), PA and Megan Seeger (Corey) MD. He also loved being called “Granddad” by his ten beautiful grandchildren: Ryleigh, Joshua, Aubrey, Emersyn, Thomas, Banny, Addison, Gwen, Emory and Neve.
Born on December 23, 1949, in Hagerstown, MD, Dave was the second child and first son of Morris Ellwood and Alice (Deatrick) Fleming. He graduated with the 1967 Class of North Hagerstown High and then ventured on to the University of Maryland, College Park, to receive his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and then pursued his Master of Science in Management at Frostburg State College while employed at The Potomac Edison Company. When Potomac Edison was going through a reorganization in 1996, he was then transferred to the Parkersburg, WV, office. Deciding on early retirement from the power company in 2003, he moved on to accept a position with the Bureau of the Public Debt, in Parkersburg. Dave immensely enjoyed his employment years with both companies, and his many colleagues that he had maintained friendships with throughout the years.
Never someone to shy away from a challenge, Dave was self-instructed and continued honing his craft in the art of guitar and harmonica. He also retained the natural gift of composing beautiful music on the piano. He was a kind, thoughtful, loyal and sincere man and loved the Lord deeply. His presence will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Susan Fleming Kish and his niece Tania Stitely Kish.
Please join us in a Celebration of Dave’s Life on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Dr., Williamsport MD. Pastor Mark Sandell to officiate.
