Steve Eliopulos
Steve “Eli” Eliopulos, 97, formerly of the Belpre OH-Parkersburg, WV area, passed away on December 13, 2025, at HCA Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. Prior to his passing, he had resided at Douglas T. Jacobson State Veterans Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, FL.
Steve was born in Uniontown, PA, on August 12, 1928, to Konotantinos and Ella Eliopulos. He enlisted in the Navy, and after being discharged in 1947, worked at RCA/NCR in Cambridge, OH. He then relocated to Belpre, OH, where he was part owner in Eli’s Restaurant in the Grand Central Mall, Vienna, WV, Poor Richard’s, and retired from Sebastian’s Restaurant in Parkersburg, WV. Steve loved music, reading, and watching sports. He also liked to run, and participated in local races well into his 80’s, for which he won several awards.
Steve is survived by his sons, Mark (Marla) Eliopulos of Palmetto, FL, Paul (Sabrina) Eliopulos of Little Hocking, OH, and Tony Eliopulos of Oldsmar, FL; two granddaughters, Christina (Casey) Green of Belpre, OH, and Angela (Josh) Cole; and three great grandchildren, Cameron Cole, and twins Caroline and Audrey Cole of Vienna, WV. In addition he leaves behind numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a brother, Jim Eliopulos, of Columbus, OH, and a sister, Maritza D’Amico of Matthews, NC.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Chuck Eliopulos of Henderson, NV, and a sister, Effie Eliopulos of Old Washington, OH.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the care provided by the staff of Douglas T Jacobson Veteran’s Facility.
A memorial service will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
