Robert Anthony Eugene Richards, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 32. Born on October 1, 1993, in Charleston, WV, Robert’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication, woven with the threads of his kind spirit and his passion for the outdoors.

Robert grew up in the warm embrace of a loving family in West Virginia. He was the beloved son of Crystal (Mark) Shaw of Parkersburg and Albert Adkins Jr. of Belleville. His life was enriched by the strong bonds he shared with his brothers, David (Amanda) Richards and Brian Richards, as well as his stepsister, Levin Shaw. Robert’s maternal grandparents, Jim (Doris) Smith of Belleville, and Debbie Bailey of Center Point, WV, along with his nieces and nephews — Baylee, Alan, Laiken, and Jordan Richards — added joy and laughter to his life. His family circle extended to include several devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and his work family, all of whom will miss him deeply. Robert was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Naomi Phillips, Robert Clifford, and Albert Adkins Sr.

A proud graduate of Ravenswood High School, Robert carried the values of his education throughout his life. He was a dedicated employee at Wincore in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where he was not only a colleague but a friend to many. His commitment to his work was evident in the quality and care he brought to every task.

Robert’s interests painted the picture of a man who loved life and lived it to the fullest. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace and excitement in hunting, fishing, and kayaking. His competitive spirit shone through in his love for playing cornhole, and his musical tastes provided a soundtrack for the many moments he shared with friends and family. Robert’s loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers was unwavering, and his enthusiasm on game days was infectious.

Perhaps one of Robert’s most treasured pastimes was embarking on fishing trips to the mountains with his best friend, Billy Knicely. These adventures in nature were not just hobbies but a reflection of Robert’s appreciation for the simple, beautiful experiences life has to offer.

Those who knew Robert will remember him as a kind soul, always ready with a joke to bring a smile to someone’s face. He was thoughtful, often putting the needs and happiness of others before his own. His presence was a comfort, and his humor a gift that kept on giving.
