Richard Maley

Richard Lee Maley, 78, of New England Ridge, passed away Friday January 2, 2026.

He was born in Parkersburg, August 18, 1947, a son of the late Clarence F. “Bill” Maley and Lena Marie (Rohan) Maley.

Rich was a member of the Lost Pavement Church of Christ.

He was a Laborer and worked for Mountain State Steel, Boso Equipment, and Walker Systems.

Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and camping with his lifelong friend Carroll. He also enjoyed painting ceramics especially wild life.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Lou (Wigal) Maley of New England Ridge, daughter, Rachel Lent (Chris) of Parkersburg, son, Ryan Parsons of Seattle, WA, seven grandchildren, Damien, Devin, Alexis, Greyson, Mia, Jenna, and Isabella, six brothers and sisters in law, Shelia Maley, Carroll Wigal (Wilma), Bob Wigal (Mary), John Wigal, Nancy Wheeler (Dan), and Betsey Williams (Ken), and several nieces and nephews including Bud Maley (Donnita)

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Riggins) Maley, two brothers, Butch and John Maley, two brothers in law, Gary Wheeler and Don Wigal (Rhonda)

Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday January 9, 2026 at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Kirk Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to service at the funeral home.
