Opal Lucille Rogers, 96, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg. She was born at Bergoo, WV (Webster County) on October 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Murray and Maude (Phillips) Hamrick.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Earl Rogers in February 2000; one son Charles Edward "Eddie" Rogers; seven siblings as well as several other family members.
Lucille is survived by one daughter Deborah Ann "Debbie" Cumpston and husband Dave of Parkersburg; three grandchildren: Joshua Matthew Rogers (Becky) of MN, Adam David Cumpston (Shawna) of VA, and John Marshall Cumpston (Paige) of Parkersburg; and four great-granddaughters: Leah Paige Cumpston, Emily Grace Cumpston, Elena Grace Cumpston, and Jenna Beth Counts. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Lucille was a graduate of Webster Springs High School Class of 1948 and a member of Southside Southern Baptist Church in Parkersburg. She enjoyed sewing especially crochet and making quilts. Lucille was a homemaker and took great pride in keeping her home immaculate. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons and great-granddaughters, they were truly "her life."
